Sadly Post Offices are reducing in number. It is important to check their existence before using 'Poste Restante'. My list includes many phone numbers.
Some Post Masters like to see or hear from you before you send mail.
The letter should be addressed as follows:-
Your full name,
'POSTE RESTANTE' or 'TO BE CALLED FOR',
'POST OFFICE', Full Address.
The sender should also include their return address.
The mail will be kept for two weeks before being returned.
You can use the service for up to 3 months in any one UK town for any letters.
When collecting mail you will need proof of identity.
